ON THE FAR SIDE OF THE HILL

ON THE FAR SIDE OF THE HILL

"Green,Green, Its Green they say,on the far side of the hill" Again,I'm not going to sing a song to you.It would be rediculous since I dont have a voice and I would'nt want to scare you. What I would like to do ,is introduce you to a group of men,who wondered exactly what the title of this piece says.Whats on the far side of the hill, and the men I'm refering to were called"Mountain Men"

Men looking to escape the modern world as it was known in the period of 1800-1840, from all walks of life. The farmer,Doctor,Lawyer Bricklayer, and even the escaped convict. All wanting to escape to a better way,but not knowing how to do it.With the barest of necessities to sustain life, they left the modern world into a wilderness and conquering a nation.Traveling as far west as the Pacific Ocean.Meeting and living with, the American Native.Sometimes causing trouble with the American Natives creating alot of deaths and trouble along the way.

Most of these men in order to make a living ,hired out to fur companies, while others just went out to trap and bring their furs back and restock their provisions for another year of hunting, and trapping. Now since I dont want to make a fool out of myself with something extra I dont know about these men, feel free to wonder thru the links I've provided, and you can see for yourself.I'll be reading a long to,so I'll know in the future.
